The pirates of the Caribbean are going to war in the Super Bowl LI trailer for “Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales.”

The extended trailer shows returning pirates Captain Barbossa (Geoffrey Rush) and Will Turner (Orlando Bloom) facing down an entirely too waterlogged Captain Salazar (Javier Bardem). It doesn’t seem like it’s going to well, judging by the enormous sea battle in the middle of the trailer. You can watch the trailer above.

Fan favorite Captain Jack Sparrow (Johnny Depp) is back as well, and as usual he looks a little worse for wear. The fifth movie in the franchise also stars Kaya Scodelario and Brenton Thwaites. It’s being helmed by co-directors Joachim Ronning and Espen Sandberg.

Johnny Depp, the headliner of the entire franchise thus far, was noticeably absent from the previous trailer for “Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales,” but that’s not the case here as he makes an entrance near the end of the teaser, covered in mud and holding a bottle of rum.

But Depp’s Jack Sparrow remains a side attraction in this trailer, which is full of spectacle and sees Captain Salazar leading his horde of monster pirates in a sprint across the surface of the sea — which is quite a thing to watch.
