Actor Moises Arias, who most recently appeared in “Pitch Perfect 3,” has been signed on to appear in CBS Films’ “Five Feet Apart,” the studio announced Thursday.
The film follows Stella and Will, a couple that falls in love with each other though they are living on borrowed time. “Riverdale” star Cole Sprouse will play Will in his first feature adult role, with Arias playing Stella’s close friend Poe. Cathy Schulman (“Crash”) is producing the film with director Justin Baldoni (“Jane The Virgin”). Mikki Daughty and Tobias Iaconis wrote the screenplay.
Cathy Schulman is producing the film via her Welle Entertainment banner and Justin Baldoni via his company Wayfarer Entertainment. Mark Ross is overseeing the project for CBS Films which is set to begin production in May.
Arias has mostly been known for comedy, playing Rico in the long-running Disney Channel series “Hannah Montana.” He also starred in the 2013 Sundance film “The Kings of Summer.” Arias is represented by KMR & Associates and Myman Greenspan Fineman Fox Rosenberg & Light, LLP.
