‘Power’: Omari Hardwick Tells Us How He Choreographs Those Steamy Sex Scenes (Exclusive Video)

“You can’t have a stunt guy come in and go ‘right here, you lift her leg and start crying,'” actor tells TheWrap

Omari Hardwick says that the sex scenes in “Power” go beyond your typical steaminess to get deeper into the character.

“I think in the first sex scene you see with Ghost and Tasha in Season 1, I’m crying in the sex scene. He’s literally crying. And then his face goes to rage. So, obviously, that’s not necessarily able to be choreographed,” Hardwick said in a recent interview with TheWrap. “You can’t have a stunt guy come in and go ‘right here, you lift her leg and start crying.’”

“We go to a place where it’s probably harder to choreograph sex scenes where it’s not going to go as far as ‘Power’ goes,” he added. “We kind of just go there.”

The “Being Mary Jane” alum said that the most “prolific” murder scene was back in the pilot.

“The most potent, the most scary one … is in the pilot episode. You know, when a man goes down stairs fully suited in a three-piece suit — which, three-piece means it takes a minute to take that sh– off — and then, you know, all of a sudden blows his head off.”

“Power” Season 5 premieres on Starz on July 1.
