President Obama will address the nation at 10:30 a.m. PT on Monday, following a debt-cieling showdown that was followed by America's first credit downgrade in the nation's history.
The address comes at a crucial time for both the president and the nation; following the 11th-hour debt-ceiling compromise deal, the stock market suffered a precipitous plunge last week, with the Dow closing down more than 500 points on Thursday.
Subsequently, Standard & Poor's downgraded America's credit rating from a perfect AAA, which it had enjoyed since the ratings began more than 100 years ago, to an AA+ rating.
The president is also expected to address the tragic helicopter crash that killed dozens of people, including nearly two dozen Navy SEALS in Afghanistan on Saturday.
