What If America’s Great Presidents Were Women – 5 Actresses Imagine It (Video)

Bryce Dallas Howard, Deborah Ann Woll and other actresses recite speeches by Lincoln, JFK, LBJ, Carter and Obama in new short

Just in time for Independence Day — and the prospect of Hillary Clinton becoming the first woman elected president of the United States — filmmaker Tatia Pilieva has tapped five well-known actresses to play great American presidents.

In her new short “Speech,” Pilieva weaves together snatches of great speeches by Abraham Lincoln, John F. Kennedy, Lyndon B. Johnson, Jimmy Carter and Barack Obama.

The twist is that she tapped five actresses to play the nation’s chief executive.

So Bryce Dallas Howard (“Jurassic World”) and Deborah Ann Woll (“True Blood”) don suits and recite familiar words from Lincoln’s Gettysburg Address and JFK’s inaugural speech (“Ask not what your country can do for you but what you can do for your country”), respectively.

In addition to Howard as Lincoln and Becki Newton (“Ugly Betty”) as Kennedy, the black-and-white short also features Woll as LBJ, Gillian Zinser (“90210”) as Carter and Robinne Lee (“Hitch,” “Fifty Shades Darker”) as Obama.
