‘Private Practice’s’ Caterina Scorsone to Reprise Role on ‘Grey’s Anatomy’

The ABC medical drama stages a Shepherd family reunion in May

Prepare thyself for a Shepherd family reunion on ABC’s “Grey’s Anatomy.”

Caterina Scorsone will reprise her role as Dr. Amelia Shepherd on the medical drama, a show representative told TheWrap.

She will be back starting in May and will recur for the remainder of Season 10. The details of her return are being kept secret by show producers.

Amelia first appeared on “Grey’s Anatomy” in Season 7 and guest starred again on Season 8. Fans got to know the character intimately when she joined spinoff “Private Practice” in its third season in 2010 and stayed through its final episode in January 2013.

Scorsone has also appeared on ABC’s “Castle,” Starz’s “Crash” and starred on the Canadian children’s horror series “Goosebumps.”
