Don’t hold your breath for a “Property Brothers”-“Bachelor” crossover any time soon.
Apparently, one of the stars of the HGTV series has been approached about headlining the ABC dating franchise — more than once.
“Jonathan has been pitched like, I think four times now, been approached to be the Bachelor. He don’t need that,” Drew Scott told US Weekly at the Creative Arts Emmys on Sunday, referring to his sibling/co-star.
“Anyway, I think right now he’s just focusing on what we’re doing, the shows, we’re launching our first kids’ book next month, which is exciting. Eventually he’ll have time and then I’ll pawn him off for a dating show or something,” he added.
Jonathan chimed in to say that being at the center of the longstanding ABC dating show would give him “so much anxiety.”
“I said my third no to being the Bachelor about a month ago,” he said. “I cannot. That is absolutely not me. I would love something like ‘Amazing Race.’ [It] would be fun … but not ‘The Bachelor.'” ABC had no comment when reached by TheWrap about Scott being approached for the show.
When US Weekly asked if he’d be interested in doing the show without committing to a proposal at the end, Jonathan joked, “Oh, just frivolous sex? Oh, that sounds fun.”
Instead, Season 23 of “The Bachelor” will have Colton Underwood handing out roses.
