‘Raising Hope’ Premiere Hits Twitter Before TV

Season 3 premiere of Fox sitcom "Raising Hope" gets Twitter debut more than a week ahead of air date

Fox is hoping to raise interest in the upcoming third season of "Raising Hope" by offering the premiere episode on Twitter, more than a week before the episode airs on the network.

Beginning Friday, Twitter users can watch the premiere episode on the show's Twitter page, marking the first time that a TV series has aired a full episode on Twitter.

The "Raising Hope" season premiere will be available on Twitter until 11:59 p.m. on Sept. 27. The new season will have its on-air premiere Tuesday, Oct. 2 at 8 p.m.

“In the space of 140 characters on Twitter, Fox is introducing fans to some of the funniest characters on TV,” Twitter Head of TV Fred Graver said. “Fox’s innovative approach to Twitter will bring millions of fans closer to a hotly anticipated fall premiere.”

The "Raising Hope" premiere page currently has just shy of 58,000 followers.

"Raising Hope"'s season 3 premiere is also available early on Fox On Demand, Fox.com, Hulu.com and Facebook.

In the season premiere of the Greg Garcia-created series, Sabrina (Shannon Woodward) introduces the Chance family to her mother, Tamara (played by Melanie Griffith) at the funeral of her grandmother (Griffith's real-life mother Tippi Hedren). The grandmother's will, which is revealed in a video, has a big impact on Sabrina and Jimmy's relationship.
