CBS topped Thursday as “American Idol” and NBC’s “Parenthood” hit new lows.
Fox’s other show on the schedule, “Rake,” also fell to a new series low, shortly into its existence. For NBC, “Parks and Recreation” and “Community” both matched series lows.
CBS was first in ratings with a 2.5 rating/8 share in the advertiser-coveted 18-49 demographic and first in viewers with an average of 10.5 million, according to preliminary numbers. A timeslot switch for “Two and a Half Men” and “Crazy Ones” helped both in the ratings.
“The Big Bang Theory” at 8 p.m. earned a 4.9/16 and had 17.5 million viewers, both primetime highs on Thursday. “The Millers” at 8:30 received a 2.8/9 and 11.2 million viewers. “Two and a Half Men” in its new timeslot at 9 earned a 2.5/7 — a 32 percent increase from its last original — and 10.1 million viewers. “The Crazy Ones” at 9:30, which swapped half-hours with “Men,” received a 1.9/5 and 7.4 million viewers. It was up 12 percent. “Elementary” at 10 got a 1.6/5 and 8.5 million viewers.

ABC was second in ratings with a 2.4/7 and in viewers with 7.8 million. The “ABC News: Countdown to the Oscars” special at 8 had a 1.0/3 and 4.7 million viewers. “Grey’s Anatomy” at 9 got a 3.0/9 and 9.3 million viewers. “Scandal” at 10 received a 3.3/10 and 9.3 million viewers.
Fox was third in ratings with a 1.5/5 and in viewers with 6.6 million. “American Idol” at 8 hit a new low for a regular telecast on any night with a 2.3/7. It also pulled in 9.8 million viewers. “Rake” at 9 hit a new low with a 0.8/2; it had 3.5 million viewers.
NBC and Univision tied for fourth in ratings, each with a 1.1/3. NBC was fourth in viewers with 3.2 million viewers. Univision was fifth in viewers with 2.8 million.

For NBC, “Community” at 8 tied a series low with a 1.0/3. It had 2.6 million viewers. “Parks and Recreation” at 8:30 dropped 23 percent from its last original to a 1.0/3 — tying a low — and had 2.5 million viewers. The “Hollywood Game Night” premiere at 9 was down 20 percent from its last original with a 1.2/3 and 3.4 million viewers. “Parenthood” at 10 got a 1.1/3 — a new low — along with 3.6 million viewers.
The CW was sixth in ratings with a 0.7/2 and 1.6 million viewers. “Vampire Diaries” at 8 had a 0.9/3 — tying a low — and 2 million viewers. “Reign” at 9 hit a new low with a 0.5/1, and had 1.3 million viewers.
Telemundo was seventh in ratings with a 0.5/2 and in total viewers with 1.3 million.
