Ratings: ‘American Idol’ Rises in 500th Episode

“Suburgatory” ticks up week-to-week with series finale

CBS topped Wednesday night with “Survivor” and its “Criminal Minds” season finale.

For second place Fox, “American Idol” got a 24 percent ratings boost with its 500th episode.

CBS was first in ratings with a 2.2 rating/7 share in the advertiser-coveted 18-49 demographic and first in viewers with an average of 9.9 million, according to preliminary numbers. “Survivor” at 8 p.m. received a 2.5/8 and 9.9 million viewers. “Criminal Minds” at 9 earned a 2.7/8 and a night-high 12 million viewers. A rerun followed.

Fox was second in ratings with a 2.1/6 and in viewers with 8.8 million. “American Idol” was the only show on the network’s schedule.

ABC was third in ratings with a 1.7/5 and in viewers with 5.8 million. “The Middle” at 8 received a 1.9/6 and 6.9 million viewers. The “Suburgatory” series finale at 8:30 had a 1.5/5 and 5 million viewers. “Modern Family” led the night in ratings with a 3.1/9 and had 8.8 million viewers. “Mixology” at 9:30 got a 1.3/4 and 3.9 million viewers. The “Nashville” season-two finale at 10 had a 1.3/4 — which was up slightly from last week but down 32 percent from last year’s finale — and 5 million viewers.

NBC was fourth in ratings with a 1.4/4 and in viewers with 5.1 million. “Revolution” at 8 got a 1.1/4 and 4 million viewers. “Law & Order: SVU” had a 1.5/5 and 5.3 million viewers. “Chicago P.D.” at 10 received a 1.6/5 and 6.1 million viewers.

Univision was fifth in ratings with a 1.1/3 and in total viewers with 2.7 million.

The CW was sixth in ratings with a 0.7/2 and in total viewers with 2 million. The “Arrow” season finale at 8 had a 0.8/3 and 2.3 million viewers. “The 100” at 9 got a 0.6/2 and 1.8 million viewers.

Telemundo was seventh in ratings with a 0.5/1 and in total viewers with 1.1 million.
