CBS' "Big Brother" rode a slight uptick to the top ratings slot on Wednesday, while Fox took the night overall, according to preliminary numbers.
"Big Brother" at 8 p.m. climbed 4 percent over its July 27 telecast to grab a 2.5 rating/8 share in the adults 18-49 demographic, and 6.7 million total viewers. CBS ran repeats for the remainder of the evening.
At Fox, "So You Think You Can Dance" dropped 14 percent compared to last week, but the hoofing competition, which comprised the network's entire primetime roster from 8 to 10 p.m., took a 1.8/5 in the demo, which was enough to give Fox the overall win for the night. Wednesday night's "Dance" drew 5.4 million total viewers.
NBC's "Minute to Win It" at 8 was down 8 percent compared to last week, drawing a 1.1/4 in the demo and 4.6 million total viewers, while "America's Got Talent" declined 14 percent to a summer low, taking a 2.4/7 in the demo and 9.5 million total viewers. The network closed out the night with reality show "Love in the Wild," which premiered in late June and fell 13 percent on Wednesday to a series low, taking a 1.4/4 in the demo and 4.7 million total viewers.
ABC ran repeats throughout the night with the exception of "Primetime Nightline: Beyond Belief" at 10, which jumped 44 percent versus last week with a 1.3/4 in the demo and 5.3 million total viewers.
