A near buzzer-beating three-pointer won Sunday night’s NCAA tournament game for Kentucky, and the contest’s overrun won the night for CBS.
CBS was first in the ratings with a 2.3 rating/6 share in the advertiser-coveted 18-49 demographic and first in viewers with an average of 11.7 million, according to preliminary numbers. With a 20-minute overrun due to the game, CBS’ primetime slid and its numbers are subject to change.
The overrun at 7 p.m. ran into “60 Minutes,” earning a 4.8/16 and 18.3 million viewers — both highs for the night. The continuation of “60 Minutes” at 7:30 received a 2.9/9 and 14.6 million viewers. The conclusion of the news magazine show ran into “The Amazing Race” at 8, getting a 2.1/6 and 11.9 million viewers. “Amazing Race” at 8:30 had a 1.9/5 and 8.9 million viewers. At 9, the conclusion of the reality competition ran into “The Good Wife,” which got a 2.0/5 and 10.7 million viewers. “The Good Wife” at 9:30 earned a 1.7/4 and 10.3 million viewers. At 10, the show ran into “The Mentalist,” which received a 1.7/4 and 10.5 million viewers. At 10:30 “The Mentalist” had a 1.5/4 and 8.6 million viewers.

ABC was second in ratings with a 1.8/5 and in viewers with 6.5 million. “America’s Funniest Home Videos” at 7 got a 1.2/4 and 5.9 million viewers. “Once Upon a Time” received a 2.1/6 and 6.5 million viewers. “Resurrection” at 9 earned a 2.3/6 and 8.2 million viewers. “Revenge” at 10 had a 1.4/4 and 5.2 million viewers.
Fox was third in ratings with a 1.5/4 and fourth in viewers with 3.5 million. “Bob’s Burgers” at 7 got a 1.0/3 and 2.3 million viewers. “American Dad” at 7:30 had a 1.4/4 and 2.8 million viewers. “The Simpsons” at 8 received a 1.9/5 and 3.9 million viewers. “Family Guy” at 8:30 earned a 2.1/6 and 4.1 million viewers. “Cosmos” at 9 had a 1.5/4 and 3.9 million viewers.

NBC was fourth in ratings with a 0.9/3 and in viewers with 3.9 million. Following a rerun, “American Dream Builders” at 8 had a 0.8/2 and 3.3 million viewers. “Believe” at 9 got a 1.1/3 and 4.8 million viewers. “Crisis” at 10 received a 1.0/3 — down 23 percent from last week — and 4.3 million viewers.
Univision was fifth in ratings with a 0.7/2 and in total viewers with 2 million.
Telemundo was sixth in ratings with a 0.6/2 and 1.5 million viewers.
