Ratings: ‘Crazy Ex Girlfriend’ Rises in Season 1 Finale

Golden Globe-winning series jumps 25 percent in key demo

The Season 1 finale of The CW’s “Crazy Ex Girlfriend” ended on a high note, with the musical series jumping 25 percent in the key demo week over week.

The show drew 840,000 viewers in the 8 p.m. hour, along with a 0.3 rating, up from 774,000 viewers and a 0.24 rating last week.

Rachel Bloom won a Golden Globe for Best Performance by an Actress in a Television Series – Comedy or Musical for playing the title character in the series.

CBS aired the “Supergirl” Season 1 finale in the same time period on Monday night, but the series failed to see any significant lift. It averaged 6.2 million viewers and a 1.2 rating, up only slightly in total viewers from last week and down from a 1.3 rating in the advertiser coveted adults 18-49 demographic.

NBC won the night in the key demo with a 1.9 rating, but came in second in total viewers with 8.5 million. “The Voice” aired from 8-10 p.m., averaging just under 10 million viewers and a 2.2 rating. “Blindspot” followed at 10, drawing 5.6 million viewers and a 1.3 rating.

ABC came in second in the key demo with a 1.4 rating, but first in total viewers with 9.3 million. “Dancing with the Stars” aired from 8-10 p.m. and averaged 10.9 million viewers along with a 1.6 rating. “Castle” aired at 10 p.m. and got 6 million viewers and a 1.0 rating.

CBS finished third with a 1.3 rating and 7.4 million viewers. “Supergirl” aired at 8 p.m., with “Scorpion” following at 9, nabbing 8.2 million viewers and a 1.5 rating. “NCIS: Los Angeles” closed out at 10 p.m. with 7.7 million viewers and a 1.2 rating.

Fox finished fourth with 3.8 million viewers and a 1.2 rating. “Gotham” got 3.7 million viewers and a 1.2 rating at 8 p.m. “Lucifer” got 3.9 million viewers and a 1.3 rating at 9 p.m.

Univision came in fifth with a 0.7 rating and just under 2 million viewers.

Telemundo finished sixth with a 0.6 rating and 1.4 million viewers.

The CW finished seventh with a 0.4 rating and 892,000 viewers. “Crazy Ex Girlfriend” aired at 8 p.m. “Jane the Virgin” followed at 9 p.m., scoring 943,000 viewers and a 0.4 rating.
