Ratings: ‘Dancing,’ ‘New Girl,’ ‘NCIS: L.A.’ Climb; Lowered ‘Voice’ Wins Night for NBC

"The Voice" hits a low for its current cycle, but still comes out on top of the ratings heap

Fox's "New Girl," CBS's "NCIS: Los Angeles" and ABC's "Dancing With the Stars" grew in the ratings on Tuesday night, while NBC's "The Voice" dipped to a low for the current cycle but still posted the night's top ratings, giving the network a win for the night, according to preliminary numbers.

NBC came in first in the advertiser-coveted 18-49 demographic with a 3.0 rating/9 share and second in total viewers with 9.4 million. "The Voice" at 8 p.m. dropped 8 percent to a 3.6/10, a low for this cycle, and drew 11.1 million total viewers. "Grimm" at 10:01 posted a 1.9/5 and had 6 million total viewers.

CBS was second in ratings but took a commanding first place in total viewers with a 2.2/6 and 12.4 million. "NCIS" at 8 ticked down to a 2.9/9 and took 17 million total viewers, making it the night's most-watched show. "NCIS: Los Angeles" the following hour grew 9 percent to a 2.4/6 and took 13 million total viewers. "Golden Boy" at 10 dropped 8 percent for a 1.2/3 — a low for its Tuesday night timeslot, which it inherited from "Vegas" shortly after its February premiere — and had 7.1 million total viewers.

Fox was third in ratings and fourth in total viewers with a 1.8/5 and 4 million. "Hell's Kitchen" at 8 ticked down to a 1.9/6 and had 4.7 million total viewers, while "New Girl" at 9 inched up to a 2.1/6 and took 4 million total viewers. "The Mindy Project" at 9:30 had a 1.3/3 2.7 million total viewers. The celebrity diving competition "Splash" aired its season finale at 8, growing 11 percent to a 1.0/3 and taking 4.4 million total viewers. The "Dancing With the Stars" results show the following hour was also up, climbing 13 percent to a 1.7/4 and taking 10.5 million total viewers. "Body of Proof" at 10, meanwhile, slid 13 percent from its last original two weeks ago, posting a 1.4/4 and taking 8.1 million total viewers.
