Ratings: Fox Should Score Home Run With World Series Closer

"Sunday Night Football" inches up from last week, while "60 Minutes" plunges and "The Good Wife" dips

NFL overrun and the final game of the World Series will most likely give Fox an overall win Sunday night, while NBC's "Sunday Night Football" inched up from last week to take the night's top ratings, according to preliminary numbers.

Fox currently holds first place in the demo with a 6.3 rating/15 share in the advertiser-coveted 18-49 demographic, and in total viewers with 19.2 million.

The network aired NFL overrun combined with "The OT" at 7 p.m., followed by the San Francisco-Detroit game, which Fox Sports will issue complete data for later on Monday.

NBC drew second place in ratings and total viewers with a 5.1/12 in the demo and 13.1 million. Following three consecutive episodes of "Football Night in America" from 7 to 8:30 — which drew a 1.9/5, 2.5/6 and 4.9/12, respectively, the New Orleans-Denver football game inched up from last week's "Sunday Night Football" for a 6.3/14 — making it the night's top-rated individual program, according to early data — and grabbed 16.2 million total viewers. (Like Fox, NBC's numbers are approximate due to the nature of live sports.)

ABC took third place in ratings and fourth in total viewers with a 2.3/6 and 7.2 million total viewers. "America's Funniest Home Videos" at 7 jumped 23 percent to a 1.6/4 and drew 6.5 million, while "Once Upon a Time" the following hour grew modestly to a 3.4/8 and grabbed 9.7 million total viewers.

"Revenge" at 9 slipped slightly to a 2.7/6 and took 8 million total viewers, while the freshman drama "666 Park Avenue" at 10 slipped to a 1.6/4 with 4.8 million total viewers.

CBS took fourth in ratings and third in total viewers with a 1.9/5 and 10 million. "60 Minutes" at 7 plunged 53 percent to a season low of 1.7/4 and had 10.8 million total viewers, while "The Amazing Race" the following hour dipped to a 2.4/6 and received 9.4 million total viewers.

"The Good Wife" at 9 also dipped, receiving a 1.8/4 and taking 9.5 million total viewers, while "The Mentalist" at 10 jumped 20 percent, taking a 1.8/4 and pulling 10 million total viewers.
