Ratings: Fox’s ‘The Following’ Dips to New Series Low

ABC and CBS tie for first in ratings; former edges latter in viewers by just 26,000 people

ABC and CBS tied for first in ratings on Monday night as third place Fox’s “The Following” ticked down to set a new series low.

The night’s two top networks were separated in viewers by a mere 26,000 people.

ABC and CBS tied for first in ratings with a 2.4 rating in the advertiser-coveted 18-49 demographic. ABC had a 7 share, CBS had a 6 share. ABC just edged out CBS for first in total viewers with an average of 8.799 million versus CBS’ second-place 8.773 million, according to preliminary numbers.

For ABC, “The Bachelor” at 8 p.m. earned a 2.6/7 and 8.2 million viewers. “Castle” at 10 received a 2.1/6 and 9.9 million viewers.

For CBS, “How I Met Your Mother” at 8 earned a night-high rating of 3.3/9, along with 9.3 million viewers. At 8:30, “2 Broke Girls” received a 3.0/8 and 9.2 million viewers. “Mike & Molly” at 9 had a 2.6/7 and 10.2 million viewers — the most eyeballs of the night. “Mom” at 9:30 got a 2.3/6 and 9 million viewers. At 10, “Intelligence” received a 1.5/4 and 7.5 million viewers.

Fox was third in ratings with a 1.8/5 and in viewers with 6.1 million viewers. “Almost Human” at 8 p.m. earned a 1.8/5 — a new low — and 6.4 million viewers. At 9, “The Following” dipped to a new series low of 1.9/5 and 5.8 million viewers.

Univision was fourth in ratings with a 1.3/3 and fifth in total viewers with 3.2 million.

NBC was fifth in ratings with a 1.1/3 and fourth in viewers with 3.8 million. “Hollywood Game Night” at 8 earned a 1.5/4 and 5 million viewers. At 9, the “Sports Illustrated Swimsuit: 50 Years of Beautiful” special got a 0.9/2 and 3.2 million viewers.

Telemundo was sixth in ratings with a 0.6/2 and total viewers with 1.4 million.

The CW was seventh in ratings with a 0.4/1 and in total viewers with 1 million. “Hart of Dixie” at 8 had a 0.4/1 and 1.2 million viewers. “Beauty & the Beast” at 9 got a 0.3/1 and 881,000 viewers.
