Kate Hudson may have run wild with Bear Grylls on Monday, but NBC isn’t walking home with sole possession of first place.
Coupled with a down “American Ninja Warrior,” a “Running Wild” season premiere that was down one tenth of a ratings point from last summer’s debut led NBC to a tie with ABC atop the key 18-49 demographic. To be fair, ABC’s “The Bachelorette” was also down a little bit, though an up “The Whispers” helped offset that dip.
ABC and NBC tied for first in ratings, both with a 1.6 rating/5 share in the advertiser-coveted 18-49 demographic. ABC finished first in total viewers with an average of 5.9 million, according to preliminary numbers. NBC was second with 5.2 million.

For ABC, “The Bachelorette” at 8 earned a 1.9/7 and 7 million viewers — both highs on the night. At 10, “The Whispers” received a 0.9/3 and 3.7 million viewers.
For NBC, “American Ninja Warrior” at 8 posted a 1.7/6 and 5.9 million viewers. “Running Wild With Bear Grylls” at 10 had a 1.3/4 and 3.8 million viewers.
Fox was third in ratings with a 1.0/5 and fourth in viewers with 3.2 million. “So You Think You Can Dance” at 8 p.m. was the only show on the network’s schedule.

CBS and Univision tied for fourth in ratings, both with a 0.8/3. CBS was third in total viewers with 5 million, airing only reruns; Univision was fifth with two million.
Telemundo was sixth in ratings with a 0.6/2 and seventh in viewers with 1.5 million.
The CW was seventh in ratings with a 0.5/2 and sixth in viewers with 1.7 million. “Penn & Teller: Fool Us” at 8 got a 0.5/2 and 2 million viewers. “Whose Line Is It Anyway?” at 9 had a 0.5/2 and 1.6 million viewers. “Barber Battle” at 10 received a 0.4/1 and 1.1 million viewers.
