Ratings: ‘Millers’ Jumps 21 Percent, Animated ‘Community’ Hits New Low

CBS won Thursday with a strong bump for comedy “The Millers,” which grew 21 percent over its last original.

Also in primetime, NBC’s animated “Community” episode hit a new low in ratings, as did Fox’s “American Idol.” ABC’s “Once Upon a Time in Wonderland” finale closed softly.

CBS was first in ratings with a 2.5 rating/8 share in the advertiser-coveted 18-49 demographic and first in viewers with an average of 10 million, according to preliminary numbers. “The Big Bang Theory” at 8 p.m. was the highest-rated and most-watched show of the night, with a 4.8/17 and 17.4 million viewers. “The Millers” at 8:30 jumped 21 percent to a 2.9/9, and had 11.4 million viewers. “Two and a Half Men” at 9 earned a 2.5/7 and 9.4 million viewers. “The Crazy Ones” at 9:30 received a 1.8/5 and 6.5 million viewers. “Elementary” at 10 got a 1.6/5 and 7.8 million viewers.

ABC was second in ratings with a 2.1/6 and in viewers with 6.7 million. The finale of “Once Upon a Time in Wonderland” at 8 had a 0.9/3 and 3.2 million viewers. “Greys Anatomy” at 9 earned a 2.6/7 and 8 million viewers. “Scandal” at 10 received a 2.8/9 and 8.8 million viewers.

Fox was third in ratings with a 1.6/5 and in viewers with 5.5 million. “Hell’s Kitchen” at 8 got a 1.7/6 — a low — and 4.9 million viewers. “American Idol” at 9 had a 1.8/5 — also a new low — and 7.7 million viewers. “Surviving Jack” received a 1.2/3 and 4.5 million viewers. Fox’s lineup was pre-empted in several markets, which could have impacted the night’s numbers.

Univision was fourth in ratings with a 1.2/4 and fifth in viewers with 2.8 million.

NBC was fifth in ratings with a 1.1/3 and fourth in total viewers with 3.2 million. “Community” at 8 had a 0.9, and 2.6 million viewers. “Parks and Recreation” at 8:30 had a 1.1/4 and 2.7 million viewers. “Hollywood Game Night” at 9 got a 1.1/3 and 3.1 million viewers. “Parenthood” at 10 received a 1.2/4 and 3.7 million viewers.

Telemundo was sixth in ratings with a 0.4/1 and 1.2 million viewers.

The CW was seventh in ratings with a 0.3/1 and in total viewers with 868,000. It aired reruns.
