Ratings: MTV Movie Awards Jump 21 Percent in Core Demo

The MTV Movie Awards Pre-Show also enjoys a boost

The 2013 MTV Movie Awards proved to be a big hit for the cable network Sunday night, increasing sharply over last year in the network's core demographic, the network said Monday.

In MTV's core 12-34 demographic, the ceremony posted a 3.4 rating, a 21 percent over least year's Movie Awards.

The ceremony drew 3.8 million total viewers, with an average 4.8 million total viewers across the Viacom platforms airing the awards show, which included MTV, VH1, MTV2 and Logo.

The MTV Movie Awards Pre-Show also enjoyed a boost, jumping 31 percent in the 12-34 demo and taking in 1.8 million total viewers.
