Ratings: NFL-Aided CBS Easily Tops Thursday; ‘Mom,’ ‘Men,’ and ‘McCarthys’ Rise

Fox, NBC, Univision form a three-way tie for second in the demo

CBS scored a fairly easy victory on a slow Thursday night, though the network’s wide winner’s gap was likely at least somewhat bolstered by NFL preemptions in certain markets. Due to the nature of live sports, numbers for CBS are approximate.

Still, CBS was first in ratings with a 2.4 rating/7 share in the advertiser-coveted 18-49 demographic and first in viewers with an average of 10.3 million, according to preliminary numbers; all shows are up based on early numbers, save “The Big Big Theory.” “BBT” at 8 p.m. earned night-highs of a 4.0/14 and 15.8 million viewers. “Mom” at 8:30 scored a 2.8/9 and 11.5 million viewers. “Two and a Half Men” at 9 received a 2.5/8 and 10 million viewers. “The McCarthys” at 9:30 had a 1.8/5 and 7.7 million viewers. “Elementary” at 10 got a 1.6/5 and 8.2 million viewers.
