Ratings: ‘Secret Millionaire’ and ‘Extreme Makeover’ Down; NBC Wins Night With Miss USA

The Miss USA Pageant drops 18 percent from last year, ties for first with a "Family Guy" repeat

ABC's "Extreme Makeover: Weight Loss Edition" and "Secret Millionaire" declined  dramatically in their season premieres Sunday night, while NBC enjoyed a ratings win with the special "Adele: Live in London" and "The 62nd Annual Miss USA Pageant," according to preliminary numbers.

Getty ImagesNBC took first place in the advertiser-coveted 18-49 demographic with a 1.5 rating/4 share and second place in total viewers with 5.8 million. "Dateline" at 7 drew a 0.9/2 with 4.6 million total viewers, while "Adele: Live in London" the following hour took a 1.7/5 and 6.2 million total viewers. The Miss USA pageant at 9 was down 18 percent from last year's ceremony, posting a 1.8/5 — tying for first place with a "Family Guy" repeat — and had 6.1 million total viewers.

ABC took second place in ratings and third in total viewers, averaging 1.4/4 and 5 million. Following an "America's Funniest Home Videos" repeat at 7, the series premiere of "Secret Millionaire" the following hour posted a 1.5/5, down 56 percent from last year's premiere (though that premiere was earlier in the year, on March 6). "Extreme Makeover: Weight Loss Edition" at 9 was down 32 percent in the demo from last summer's premiere, posting a 1.5/4. It averaged 5 million total viewers.

Fox, which ran repeats throughout the night, took third in ratings and fifth in total viewers, averaging 1.3/4 and 2.8 million.

Univision ran fourth place in ratings and total viewers with an average 1.2/4 in the demo and 3.4 million total viewers.

CBS came in fifth in ratings and first in total viewers with an average 0.8/2 and 6 million. With the exception of "60 Minutes" at 7 — which took a 1.4/5 in the demo and was the night's most-watched program with 9.5 million total viewers — the network ran repeats.
