Ratings: ‘So You Think You Can Dance’ Down, But Tops Repeat-Heavy Night

Despite a 16 percent decline, Fox’s dance competition comes out on top — not that there was much competition

"So You Think You Can Dance" took the top ratings on Thursday for an evening that was dominated by repeats.

Fox's "Dance" results show — the first of the season, and marked by the debut of Lady Gaga's "The Edge of Glory" video — aired at 8 p.m., drawing a 2.1 rating/8 share in the adults 18-49 demo, down 16 percent from last week. Last night's episode garnered 6.2 million total viewers.

That was enough to give the dance competition the evening's top ratings slot, though the other networks didn't offer much competition in the form of original programming.

Aside from NBC's recent addition "Love Bites," which aired at 10 and continued to struggle with a 10 percent decline in the demo (0.9/3, with 2.3 million total viewers) compared to last week, the night's primetime roster across the board consisted of repeats.
