“Star” enjoyed a nice little bump in the ratings on Wednesday night in what was otherwise a slow evening overall.
Airing at 9 p.m on Fox, the Lee Daniels series drew a 1.3 rating in the key adults 18-49 demographic and 4.1 million viewers. That is an improvement of 13 percent in the key demo and seven percent in total viewers versus last week.
Daniels’ latest musical series for Fox has still failed to even come close to the ratings for “Empire,” however, with that show’s lowest rated broadcast to date drawing a 2.5 rating and 7 million viewers.
CBS finished first for the night overall with a 1.2 rating and 6.6 million viewers. “Hunted” enjoyed a 1.3 rating and 5.5 million viewers at 8. “Criminal Minds” drew a 1.3 rating and 7.4 million viewers at 9. “Code Black” aired at 10 with a 1.1 rating and 6.8 million viewers.
NBC was part of a three-way tie for second in the demo with a 1.0 rating but finished second in total viewers with 4.6 million, airing only repeats.
ABC was part of a three-way tie for second in the demo with a 1.0 rating but finished third in total viewers with 3.7 million viewers, airing only repeats.
Fox was part of a three-way tie for second in the demo with a 1.0 rating but finished fourth in total viewers with 3.6 million. “Showtime at the Apollo” drew just a 0.8 rating and 3.2 million viewers at 8, followed by “Star” at 9.
Univision tied for third in the demo with a 0.6 rating and finished fifth in total viewers with 1.64 million.
Telemundo tied for third in the demo with a 0.6 rating but finished seventh in total viewers with 1.5 million.
The CW finished last in the demo with a 0.5 rating but sixth in total viewers with 1.61 million. “Arrow” drew a 0.6 rating and 2 million viewers at 8. The season premiere of “The 100” drew a 0.4 and 1.3 million viewers at 9.
