Ratings: ‘The Voice’ Gives NBC Edge Over CBS

“Person of Interest” tops “Chicago Fire” for first time this season

Thanks to “The Voice,” NBC topped CBS to be No. 1 in ratings Tuesday — but it was darn close.

NBC was first in ratings with a 2.7 rating/8 share in the advertiser-coveted 18-49 demographic and second in total viewers with an average of 9 million, according to preliminary numbers.

At 8 p.m., “The Biggest Loser” earned a 2.0/6 and 6.6 million viewers. At 9, “The Voice” received a 4.0/11 — making it the highest-rated show of the night — and 12.9 million viewers. “Chicago Fire” at 10 got a 2.1/6, tying a season low, and 7.6 million viewers.

CBS was second in ratings with a 2.6/7 and first in total viewers with 15.5 million. At 8, “NCIS” earned a 3.0/9 and 18.6 million viewers — making it the most-watched program of the night. “NCIS: Los Angeles” at 9 received a 2.6/7 and 14.9 million viewers. “Person of Interest” at 10 got a 2.2/6 and 12.9 million viewers.

ABC was third in ratings with a 1.7/5 and in total viewers with 5.1 million. At 8, “Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.” earned a 2.6/8 — its lowest rated to date — and 7.1 million viewers. “The Goldbergs” at 9 earned a 1.7/5 and 5.3 million. At 9:30, “Trophy Wife” had a 1.2/3 — its lowest to date — and 4 million viewers. A rerun followed.

Fox was in fourth in ratings with a 1.5/4 and in total viewers with 3.5 million. At 8, “Dads” earned a 1.4/4 and 3.6 million viewers. At 8:30, “Brooklyn Nine-Nine” got a 1.6/4 and 3.8 million. “New Girl” at 9 received a 1.8/5 and 3.8 million viewers. At 9:30, “The Mindy Project” earned a 1.4/4 and 2.9 million viewers.

Univision was in fifth in ratings with a 1.3/4 and in viewers with 3.4 million.

The CW was sixth in ratings with a 1.0/3 and in total viewers 2.2 million. “The Originals” at 8 earned a 0.9/3 and 2.2 million viewers. “Supernatural” at 9 received a 1.0/3 and 2.3 million viewers.

Telemundo was seventh in ratings with a 0.5/1 and in total viewers with 1.1 million.
