The series performance finale of NBC's "The Voice" propelled the network to the top of the ratings heap on Monday night, while ABC's "The Bachelorette" and "Mistresses" slipped in the key demographics versus last week, according to preliminary numbers.
NBC took first place in the advertiser-coveted 18-49 demographic with a 3.0 rating/9 share and 10.5 million total viewers. Much of that credit goes to "The Voice" at 8 p.m., which took the night's top ratings with a 3.5/10.
Depending on how you slice that number, it's either good news or bad news for the singing competition. Monday night's ratings represent a 6 percent uptick over last Monday's episode but a 17 percent drop from last fall's performance finale, an 8 percent slip from last spring and 20 percent from the show's first season. "The Voice" was also the night's most-watched program with 12.3 million total viewers.
The second preview for the new game show "The Winner Is" at 10 drew a 2.0/6 — an 11 percent increase over last week's preview — with 6.9 million total viewers.
ABC tied Univision for second place in ratings with a 1.5/4 and was second outright in total viewers with 4.9 million, compared to Univision's fourth-place 3.8 million. ABC suffered declines throughout its primetime slate, starting with "The Bachelorette" at 8, which dipped 11 percent to a season low of 1.6/5 and had 5.4 million total viewers. The new drama "Mistresses" at 10 dropped off 14 percent from last week for a 1.2/3 with 3.8 million total viewers.
CBS, which aired repeats throughout the night, was fourth in ratings and third in total viewers with a 0.9/3 and 4.1 million.
Telemundo took fifth in ratings and total viewers with a 0.7/2 and 1.6 million.
Fox came in sixth in ratings and total viewers with a 0.6/2 and 1.5 million. Following a "Raising Hope" repeat at 8, "The Goodwin Games" at 8:30 slid 17 percent to a 0.5/2 and had 1.5 million total viewers. A "New Girl" repeat at 9 was followed by "Anger Management" at 9:30, which drew a 0.5/2 with 1.3 million total viewers.
