‘Real Housewives’ Gives Bravo Its Best Monday Ever

Season-two premiere of New Jersey version draws viewers on cable, online

"The Real Housewives of New Jersey” returned for its second season on Monday and delivered record ratings for Bravo.

According to Nielsen Media Research, "Housewives" was the highest-rated Monday night telecast in Bravo’s history. The show’s 1.64 million adults 18-49 and 2.33 million total viewers were up 30 percent and 36 percent, respectively, compared with season one.

Bravotv.com also scored with the premiere, fueled by a live social media event on Bravotv.com and Ustream. Bravotv.com saw its best show site traffic for any series premiere in its history, with page views up 133 percent from the previous record holder, the season-five premiere of "Project Runway."

"New Jersey" also had the best premiere in page views and daily uniques of the "Real Housewives" franchise, with 2.4 million and 149,000, respectively.

Separately, Oxygen Media’s www.OxygenLive.com had its best premiere day ever for the season during the hit series “Tori & Dean: Home Sweet Hollywood,” according to Omniture SiteCatalyst.

During the real-time experience, www.OxygenLive, with an all-new three-screen experience, Tori and Dean chatted and tweeted as well as joining fans via Ustream live video — before the show, during breaks and after the show to talk about the episode.
