For it’s seventh season premiere, “The Real Housewives of Atlanta” has shown Bravo some southern hospitality in the form of record ratings: More than 3.8 million viewers on Sunday.
The castmembers, including NeNe Leakes, Phaedra Parks and Kandi Burruss, brought enough drama to land 2.2 million viewers in the advertiser-coveted 18 to 49 demographic, easily winning the 8 p.m. hour on Sunday and making the episode Bravo’s most-watched premiere in network history.
The episode, which saw the women in their native ATL and a quick jaunt to Las Vegas, also notched a 23 percent increase in viewership over 2013’s debut according to Bravo.
The episode also won the evening in terms of social media, clocking in with 171,000 tweets — which the network says is their highest Nielsen SocialGuide rating since the agency began monitoring Twitter in 2011.
At 9 p.m., Leakes guest-starred on “Watch What Happens Live,” which delivered 2.6 million total viewers and 1.4 million viewers with the 18-49 demo.
“The Real Housewives of Atlanta” airs Sundays at 8 p.m. ET.
