MTV’s “The Challenge” has managed the feat of gaining another season.
The reality series, which began life asĀ “Road Rules: All Stars” before morphing into “Real World/Road Rules Challenge,” has been given a 25th season.

The new season, which will air next year, begins production this fall in “an undisclosed location,” according to MTV.
The most recent installment of the series, “The Challenge: Rivals II,” drew 2.2 million total viewers with its Sept. 25 finale, with a 2.0 rating in the network’s core 12-34 demographic.
Overall for the most recent season, the Bunim/Murray-produced series was up 27 percent from its previous season.
