‘Red Dead Redemption’ Videogame Pushed Back

Highly anticipated action game from “Grand Theft Auto” developers needed fine tuning

The highly anticipated, years-in-development “Red Dead Redemption” videogame has been delayed almost a month.

Originally set to come out on April 27, the third person action game will now ship on Xbox and PlayStation 3 on May 18.
Set in the bloody Old West of 1908, the game is developed by Rockstar Games, producers of the hugely successful “Grand Theft Auto” series.
Rockstar Games on Wednesday cited fine-tuning as the cause of the delay.
"We at Rockstar have always prided ourselves on the uncompromising quality of our games — and will always opt to take a bit longer to polish and fine-tune a game to be as perfect as possible when we think it necessary," the game’s producers said in a statement on their site. "With Red Dead Redemption, we felt that these extra few weeks will make a big difference in helping us deliver you an experience beyond your expectations."
The new date moves “Redemption” butting release dates with the expected blockbuster “Splinter Cell: Conviction,” based on the Tom Clancy books. However, such big games such “Lost Planet 2” and “Super Mario Galaxy” also are set for late May.
