The Oscar-winning actress is mostly somber and regretful about her and husband Jim Toth's brush with the law

Reese Witherspoon sat down Thursday morning on "Good Morning America" to discuss her recent arrest during a promotional appearance for new movie, "Mud."

"It's just completely unacceptable and we are so sorry and embarrassed," Witherspoon told George Stephanopolous. "I think we made a mistake and it was something that will absolutely never happen again."

Witherspoon admitted in the interview to saying a number of crazy things, including the now infamous lines, "Do you know my name?" and "You're about to find out who I am."

The regretful actress explained: “I saw him arresting my husband and I literally panicked… I told him I was pregnant. I’m not pregnant. I said all kinds of crazy things.”

Witherspoon and her husband, CAA talent agent Jim Toth, were pulled over in a 2013 Ford Focus, after a night out to dinner in Atlanta that she said included one too many glasses of wine. After a field sobriety test, Toth was arrested for driving under the influence and failure to maintain the lane. Witherspoon, warned twice by police for attempting to get out of the car, was arrested for disorderly conduct.
