Catherine Zeta-Jones Treated for Bipolar Disorder

The “Chicago” star’s reps confirms her treatment at a mental health facility

Catherine Zeta-Jones is being treated for bipolar disorder, TheWrap has confirmed.

The news comes after husband Michael Douglas' nearly year-long battle with throat cancer. 

"After dealing with the stress of the past year, Catherine made the decision to check in to a mental health facility for a brief stay to treat her Bipolar II disorder," A spokesperson for the actress said in a statement. "She's feeling great and looking forward to starting work this week on her two upcoming films." 

Zeta-Jones has a busy schedule of film appearances. She is costarring with Gerard Butler in "Playing the Field" and is set to appear in Stephen Frears' "Lay the Favorite" with Bruce Willis.
