Reveille Restructures Top: Mark Koops Out, Howard Owens Stays

Reveille splits up co-Managing Directors; Koops leaves, Owens going solo

A shakeup at Reveille finds co-managing director Mark Koops on the outs, with his counterpart Howard Owens taking the reins on his own.

The move was announced by Shine Group Americas CEO Emiliano Calemzuk, who came on in August.

Also part of Thursday's moves: Executive Producer Robin Ashbrook was promoted to the newly created role of Head of Non-Scripted Entertainment.

Koops is pursuing a new venture, according to a press release, that's yet to be announced. Owens (at right) will take over the day-to-day operations of Revielle.

LOS ANGELES, September 23, 2010 — CEO Shine Group Americas Emiliano Calemzuk today announced a management re-structure at Reveille that sees the company streamlined under co-Managing Director Howard T. Owens with Executive Producer Robin Ashbrook promoted to the newly created role of Head of Non-Scripted Entertainment and co-Managing Director Mark Koops leaving the Shine Group company.

Ashbrook, executive producer on the successful first season of Fox's MasterChef, and the forthcoming Live To Dance for CBS, sees his role expand to encompass non-scripted formats on the Reveille slate, in addition to heading development for the genre. In his new role Ashbrook will report to Owens.

Robin Ashbrook said: "I'm delighted by the challenge, it has been a great year to date with MasterChef and I look forward to building further on our current successes and working hard to unearth new gems with the brilliant creative team here."

Joining Reveille just over a year ago from fellow Shine Group company, the UK-based Shine TV, Ashbrook was previously executive producer of British shows including Gladiators, Banged Up, Honey We're Killing the Kids and Britain's Best.

Mark Koops said: "Being a part of building this incredible company has been an honor and privilege and I couldn't be more proud of our accomplishments over the last eight years but I am excited to take advantage of my new opportunity and will be revealing more details in due course. Co-creator and executive producer of The Biggest Loser, Koops has also served as executive producer of American Gladiators, Nashville Star, Shear Genius and as co-executive producer on NBC?s Identity and The Restaurant. Prior to joining Reveille, he worked in the New York branch of the William Morris Agency, starting in the literary division before transferring to the television and corporate consulting divisions.
