Rex Reed Blasts Movie He Didn’t Quite Watch

After infamously ripping Melissa McCarthy's weight, Reed calls horror flick "unwatchable from start to finish" — though he walked after 20 minutes

Rex Reed hated "V/H/S 2." Reed hated it so much that he walked out shortly into the screening, according to his review

The problem — critics aren't supposed to offer opinions on movies they've barely seen. And he made matters worse with the headline, "G/T/F/O: V/H/S 2 Is Unwatchable From Start to Finish."

The quote that has Reed in hot water: "'V/H/S/2' is a diabolically psychotic, sub-mental and completely unwatchable disaster that I happily deserted when a man with a retinal implant scooped out his bionic eye with a sharp object, splattering blood all over the camera."

That scene is 20 minutes into the film.

This is not Reed's first faux pas this year. In February, Reed gained notoriety when he called actress Melissa McCarthy a "hippo" and "tractor-sized" in his review of "Identity Thief."

McCarthy took the high, mostly quiet road in that one, though she eventually did say this:

“I felt really bad for someone who is swimming in so much hate. I just thought, that’s someone who’s in a really bad spot, and I am in such a happy spot. I laugh my head off every day with my husband and my kids who are mooning me and singing me songs.”
