Rihanna Gives Jimmy Kimmel a Rude Awakening in April Fool’s Day Prank (Video)

The singer creeps into the late-night host’s bedroom for a private performance of “Bitch Better Have My Money”

Jimmy Kimmel is used to late nights and little sleep, but he’s not used to one of the biggest names in pop disturbing his shut-eye.

In honor of April Fools’ Day on Wednesday, Rihanna played a prank on ABC’s “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” host by creeping into his house at 1 a.m. and frightening the life out of him.

Armed with a full camera crew and a naughty glint in her eye, wearing stage makeup and platform boots, the “SOS” singer told viewers: “I am going to wake up Jimmy now. Wish me luck,” as she walked stealthily into his bedroom.

Rather than just waking him, Rihanna gives Kimmel a private performance of her latest song “Bitch Better Have My Money” while making it rain dollar bills and streaming lights into his face.

As she jumped up and down on his bed dressed in black leather, poor Jimmy couldn’t even respond properly: “I’ve still got my mouthpiece in,” he mumbled half asleep.

Later on Wednesday’s show on ABC, Kimmel admitted he was “a little traumatized, a little groggy” after his rude awakening.

“You were so traumatized you couldn’t move,” laughed Rihanna, saying she was a little nervous.

Kimmel assured her that he was such a deep sleeper, however, that she had nothing to worry about. “If there was a fire, I’d be turned to brisket. There’d be nothing left of me.”

“I love playing pranks on people — my band, they suffer the most,” Rihanna said. “On the road, you get bored and you do a little mischief.”

This year, her bandmates got a sticky surprise when she poured a mixture of milk, eggs, pineapple juice and gum into the bottom of their shoes and pants. “I put raw fish in the bottom of their suitcases,” she added.

As TheWrap previously reported, Rihanna released a sneak peek of her new single on March 25 via a tweet posted in the early morning hours with a link to Dubsmash, an iPhone app that lets people lip sync to their favorite songs. A cryptic hint to fans the previous afternoon, which included the use of Braille, teased that the Barbados-born singer would be releasing the new single.
