Ratings: ‘Big Brother’ Carries CBS to a (Very) Distant Second Place Behind Olympics

NBC will win every single night it runs the Rio Olympics, so Sunday’s occupying of the first-place podium should be no surprise.

These 17 evenings will really be about the race for second, and last night CBS took home the silver with “60 Minutes” and “Big Brother.”

NBC was first in ratings with a 9.0 rating/31 share in the advertiser-coveted 18-49 demographic and in total viewers with an average of 29.7 million, according to preliminary numbers. Those all-Rio numbers are subject to change, however.

CBS was second in ratings with a 0.7/2 and in viewers with 3.7 million. At 7 p.m., “60 Minutes” had a 0.6/2 and 5.6 million viewers. “Big Brother” at 8 earned a 1.5/5 and 5.2 million viewers. Following a rerun, “BrainDead” at 10 managed a 0.3/1 and 1.8 million viewers.

ABC was third in ratings with a 0.6/2 and in viewers with 3.2 million, running entirely repeats.

Univision was fourth in ratings with a 0.5/2 and in viewers with 1.4 million.

Fox was fifth in ratings with a 0.4/1 and in viewers with 1 million, airing all reruns.

Telemundo was sixth in ratings with a 0.3/1 and in viewers with 889,000.
