“Riverdale” star Cole Sprouse will star in CBS Films’ “Five Feet Apart,” an individual with knowledge told TheWrap.
“Jane the Virgin” star Justin Baldoni is directing the romantic drama. Academy Award-winner Cathy Shulman will produce under her banner Welle Entertainment alongside Baldoni via his company Wayfarer Entertainment.
The screenplay was written by Mikki Daughtry (“The Children”) and Tobias Iaconis (“Sleep Tight”). The movie will follow Stella and Will, two young people falling in love with each other but living on borrowed time.
Sprouse currently stars as Jughead Jones on CW’s “Riverdale” — the show is currently in its second season and also stars KJ Apa, Lili Reinhart, Camila Mendes and Madelaine Petsch.
Before “Riverdale,” Sprouse starred on Disney Channel’s “The Suite Life of Zack and Cody” alongside his twin brother Dylan Sprouse. He also starred in the spinoff, “The Suite Life on Deck.” He previously also starred as Ross’ son on “Friends” and the as the kid in “Big Daddy.”
