Rob Lowe will guest star in the fourth season of Showtime’s "Californication."

Lowe will play Eddie Nero, an imbalanced yet charismatic, award-winning movie star who finds himself in contention to play Hank Moody (David Duchovny) in the film version of Moody’s hit novel.

Lowe will appear in at least one episode, but could possibly become a recurring character.

The fourth season of the hit comedy finds Hank hired to adapted the screenplay to his book "F**king & Punching."

Lowe currently stars on ABC’s "Brothers & Sisters," and he recently joined the cast of NBC’s "Parks and Recreation."

Also, the Hollywood Reporter says that Michael Ealy will join the Showtime series’ cast for a five-episode arc next season playing Natascha McElhone’s love interest. He appears on ABC’s "FlashForward" this season and starred in Showtime’s "Sleeper Cell."
