Rose McGowan Docu-Series Trailer: ‘I Have Been Slut-Shamed… Just Like You’ (Video)

“I decided not to stay silent. I knew others were out there and I knew it was a lot of us,” the actress says in “Citizen Rose”

Rose McGowan’s powerful voice as a victim of sexual assault can be heard in the first trailer of her five-part E! documentary, “Citizen Rose.”

“I was in the second movie for his company and I get assaulted,” she says in the trailer, referring to disgraced movie mogul Harvey Weinstein. “I decided not to stay silent. I knew others were out there and I knew it was a lot of us.”

The clip shows McGowan taking to the streets supporting and encouraging other victims to be strong and speak out.

“I have been silenced. I have been harassed. I have been slut-shamed. Just like you,” she says in the clip.

McGowan was one of the first women to speak out about the sexual misconduct of Weinstein, saying in October that he raped her in 1997. Since then, she has been a vocal participant in the #MeToo movement and started #ROSEARMY, where victims can share their experiences.

The docuseries goes behind-the-scenes into McGowan’s “tumultuous and fascinating life” and depict McGowan processing “in almost real-time, the massive social change she has helped usher in as well as fight back against those who have hurt so many, including her.”

The two-hour premiere of “Citizen Rose” airs Tuesday, Jan. 30 at 8 p.m. ET/PT on E!
