In 2018, Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg had a big year on the big screen, as she was featured in the documentary “RBG” and the biopic “On the Basis of Sex.” But in 2019, her movie history will take a weird turn as she cameos in…”The LEGO Movie 2″?

“The LEGO Movie” and its subsequent spinoffs have become known for out-of-left-field special appearances, and Justice Ginsburg will be among them in the upcoming sequel. Taking place five years after the events of its predecessor, “LEGO Movie 2” will see Emmet Brickowski (Chris Pratt) on an adventure to save his friends, who have been kidnapped and taken to the far-away Sis-Tar System.

As fans of the original film know, Emmet’s world is actually the imagination of a young boy playing with his father’s LEGO set. When the boy’s sister is invited to play in the first movie’s climax, she makes up a world of her own called Sis-Tar System, and it seems that RBG is a big role model for said sibling.

“These movies are so full of surprises. And we were thinking, ‘Who’s the last person you would think to see in a Lego film as a minifig?’ Ruth Bader Ginsburg!” director Mike Mitchell told USA Today. “And we’re all huge fans. It made us laugh to think of having her enter this world.”

Ginsburg will not voice her toy-self in the movie, but she did give the film’s team her blessing. The cameo also means that she will be made into a LEGO figurine that will be available at toy stores nationwide — and Mitchell says it will even come with a gavel.

“The LEGO Movie 2: The Second Part” hits theaters Feb. 8. Check out Ginsburg’s cameo in the new TV spot released by Warner Bros. below.
