Ryan Murphy‘s adaptation of the Larry Kramer play “The Normal Heart” will premiere May 25 at 9 p.m., the network said Thursday.
The adaptation, which chronicles the onset of the HIV-AIDS crisis in New York City in the early 1980s, features a cast that includes Mark Ruffalo, Julia Roberts, Matt Bomer, Jim Parsons and Jonathan Groff.

“Glee” and “American Horror Story” maestro Murphy directed the film, with Kramer writing the adaptation of his Tony Award-winning play.
HBO is currently considering a sequel to the film, with Kramer and Murphy returning to write and direct, respectively.
