Ryan Reynolds dressed up as Deadpool on Halloween, and posed with a lucky group of trick-or-treaters dressed as X-Men.

“Dear Fox, stop changing the timelines. It’s confusing the audience. #xmenassemble,” the star of the studio’s upcoming Marvel superhero spinoff, “Deadpool,” tweeted along with a picture of the group of kids.

And if Reynolds’ wife, Blake Lively, is to be believed, they may not have had any idea of the Hollywood star that was underneath the mask.

“The beauty of Halloween — you never know who’s under the mask,” Lively wrote on her own Instagram account sharing the same picture.

Reynolds’ costume looks so legitimate that it might be the exact costume from set. In January, the actor told MSN that he had waited so long to play the part of the “Merc with the Mouth” that he wasn’t going to leave the set without memorabilia.

“I loved wearing it and I have run away with one – I’ll probably get into trouble for saying that, but I’ve waited 10 years to do this movie so I’m leaving with a f–king suit.”

Reynolds played Deadpool in the 2009 film “X-Men Origins: Wolverine.” Now, the actor will reprise the role in “Deadpool,” set to be released on February 12, 2016, by Marvel Enterprises and Twentieth Century Fox.

The film also stars Morena Baccarin, Ed SkreinT.J. Miller and Brianna Hildebrand. It will be directed by Tim Miller and produced by Simon Kinberg, Reynolds and Lauren Shuler Donner.
