Ryan Reynolds Named CinemaCon’s Male Star of the Year

Actor, who will appear in this summer’s “Green Lantern,” will take top talent honors at Vegas exhibitor trade show later this month

Ryan Reynolds will receive CinemaCon's Male Star of the Year Award, the trade show announced on Thursday. 

Reynolds will pick up his honor at a ceremony March 31 in The Colosseum of Caesars Palace.

"The Proposal" star is set to appear in "Green Lantern" this summer, a big screen adaptation of the popular comic book. He'll play the ring wearing, crime fighting superhero. 

Following “Green Lantern,” Reynolds stars with Jason Bateman and Olivia Wilde in “The Change-Up,” a comedy about a married guy who switches bodies with his best friend in order to woo his co-worker. Reynolds is currently filming the action thriller “Safe House,” co-starring Denzel Washington.

He recently appeared in the horror film "Buried."
