Film District will release the Ryan Reynolds movie "Selfless" nationwide on Sept. 26, 2014, the company announced Wednesday.
The sci-fi thriller is directed by Tarsem Singh ("Mirror Mirror) and has been described as "Frankenstein meets Dorian Gray."

Reynolds plays a terminally ill billionaire who buys a chance for eternal life through an experimental underground medical procedure called “shedding,” which transfers his consciousness into the cadaver of a younger man.
The only other movie currently set for that date is the animated "Boxtrolls" from Focus Features.
