Ryan Seacrest in Talks to Host NBC’s ‘Million Second Quiz’

The "American Idol" host looks to split his time on the new gameshow series

Ryan Seacrest is in late talks to host and executive produce NBC's upcoming game show, "Million Second Quiz," an individual with knowledge of the negotiations told TheWrap.

Talks with the multi-hyphenate have lasted over the last few weeks and have been complicated by Seacrest's schedule.

NBC and Ryan Seacrest Productions declined to comment for this report.

The show would shoot in early-September for close to two consecutive weeks. Seacrest, who hosts a morning radio show in Los Angeles as well, has to contend with shooting for "Idol's" next season.

Seacrest already has a cross-network deal with NBCUniversal that has included roles on "Today," Olympics coverage and, of course, his work with the E! Network.

Seacrest has another year on his contract with Fox's "American Idol."

"Million Second Quiz" will air live from New York City for 12 days starting Sept. 9. The game continues 24 hours a day and pits its contenders against each other in trivia quizzes. The winner could win $1 million or more.
