Sacha Baron Cohen Enters First-Look Deal With FX Productions

FXX will also resurrect “Da Ali G Show”

Sacha Baron Cohen is in the house with FX Productions.

The “Borat” funnyman’s production company Four by Two has inked a first-look deal with FX Productions, the company said Friday.

In addition, FX’s recently launched comedy-centric network FXX will air the original run of Baron Cohen’s “Da Ali G Show,” including episodes that have not yet aired in America.

“Ali G: Rezurection,” which will begin airing early next year, will resurface every episode of “Da Ali G Show” with new, original introductions by Baron Cohen.

“We’re thrilled to be in business with Sacha Baron Cohen,” said Nick Grad, president of original programming, FX Networks and FX Productions  “He is an amazing talent and we look forward to him developing new series for FXP.  We’re also excited to introduce Da Ali G Show and Sacha’s characters to a new audience on FXX, and we can’t wait to see how he will incorporate new, original content in the episodes.”

“Da Ali G Show.” which featured Baron Cohen as clueless talk-show host Ali G, as well as Kazakhstan reporter Borat and gay Austrian fashion reporter Bruno, premiered on the U.K.’s Channel 4 in 2003. Of the 18 episodes produced, 12 of those aired on HBO.
