Saffron Burrows Gets a Break With ‘Bones’ Spinoff

“Law & Order: Criminal Intent” actress lands a high-flying role in “The Locator”

Saffron Burrows, who's most recently been seen on the small screen as Detective Serena Stevens on NBC's "Law & Order: Criminal Intent," has landed a role on the upcoming "Bones" spin-off.

The yet unnamed series  is based on Richard Greener's "The Locator" books.

The 38-year-old actress will play a bar owner who serves as the sidekick to former military policeman Walter Sherman (who'll be played by former "7th Heaven" star Geoff Stults).

Sherman's special skills include the ability to find anything. The unique abilities of Saffron's character? Knowing how to pilot a helicopter and drive a boat.

The spin-off will be launched later in the current season of Fox's forensics-driven comedy-drama, which stars David Boreanaz and Emily Deschanel. Michael Clarke Duncan, of "The Green Mile" and "Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby" fame, is also on board for the spin-off, as Sherman's partner, Leo.
