SAG Extends Basic-Cable Agreement

Two-year agreement calls for a 3 percent wage increase.

The Screen Actors Guild has approved an extension to its basic-cable live action agreement.

With SAG members voting nearly 94 percent in favor of the new deal, the two-year agreement calls for a 3 percent wage increase and a 0.5 percent bump in pension contributions, with both retroactive to June 10. Another 3.5 percent wage increase will be triggered on June 10 of next year.

With the vote, SAG has now ratified six contracts this year.

“Cable is a burgeoning marketplace for our members and will continue to be an area of focused attention for SAG,” said guild interim national executive director David White, in a prepared statement.
