Sam Dickerman Moved Up to Exec VP of Production for Columbia

Promoted VP will work on “Total Recall” revamp and Kevin James comedy

Sam Dickerman has been promoted to executive VP of production for Columbia Pictures, Columbia president Doug Belgrad announced on Thursday.

Dickerman had served as senior VP of Production for the studio since coming on board in 2005.

In his previous position, Dickerman oversaw the production of such films as "Click," "You Don't Mess With the Zohan," "Paul Blart: Mall Cop" and "Salt," and was the point person for the studio's "Battle: Los Angeles."

Dickerman, who worked for the Samuel Goldwyn Company and Radiant Productions prior to joining Columbia, is currently working on the upcoming projects "Zookeeper," "I Hate You Dad," "Total Recall" and the Kevin James comedy "Here Comes the Boom."

Belgrad called the promotion "richly deserved," adding, "He is one of the most highly regarded production executives in our business."
