Samantha Bee was clearly elated as she described the resignation of Fox News chief Roger Ailes in a web extra for this week’s episode of “Full Frontal.”
“He has heaved his rancid bulk out of Fox HQ for the last time,” Bee said. “Girl power!”
Ailes was forced to resign after former Fox anchor Gretchen Carlson filed a sexual harassment lawsuit against him and the network. Shortly thereafter, reports surfaced of more women making similar accusations, as well as reports that current Fox host Megyn Kelly had also said she was harassed by Ailes.
“Congratulations, Roger, you finally achieved your ultimate fantasy: getting f—– by two gorgeous employees at the same time,” Bee said.
Bee went on to offer a scathing indictment of the network, which she said uses “a strategically placed leg cam to showcase the most qualified body parts of its female contributors.”
Bee also accused Ailes of combining the sexuality of female anchors with fear-mongering in order to drive ratings for the network.
“The anger part of Roger’s arousal was achieved through Roger’s uncanny ability to take a thing that may or may not exist, put an ominous spin on it, and then force-feed it to us all day like a foie gras goose until we were terrified,” she said. “Fox News was his masterpiece, a right wing nightmare factory powered by white resentment and relentless misinformation, churning out propaganda 24/7 and making family Thanksgivings unbearable for 20 years.”
