Savannah Guthrie Officially Hired as Ann Curry’s ‘Today’ Replacement

Guthrie, who had previously co-hosted "Today"'s third hour, takes over for newly ousted Curry

Confirming reports that had been swirling for a week, Savannah Guthrie has been named as ousted "Today" co-host Ann Curry's replacement, NBC announced on Friday.

Guthrie, who had previously co-hosted the morning show's third hour, was widely reported as the heir apparent to Curry's spot.

Curry announced her departure from the show in a teary speech Thursday, following two weeks of reports that she was being ushered off of the show.
